Effective Date

74. This PSAE is effective for assurance engagements intended to provide a high level of
assurance where the report is dated on or after December 31, 2003. Earlier application is
encouraged.

Aknowledgment

75. This PSAE, “Assurance Engagements” is based on International Standard on Assurance

Engagements (ISAE) of the same title issued by the International Auditing Practices
Committee of the International Federation of Accountants.

76. This PSAE differs from ISAE, “Assurance Engagements,” with respect to the deletion of
the section on Public Sector Perspective included in the ISAE.
