To whom it may concern:

It is my sincere pleasure to write a letter of recommendation on behalf of an extraordinary young man,

Bilal Saudi, with whom I have had the pleasure to know for two years. Bilal is a scholar, and athlete, and
a gentleman. He is a compassionate young man, and he is an asset to our school.

First and foremost, Bilal is a serious student. Last year he was in my AP US History class. He was always
prepared and was a vibrant participant. He is a solid writer and applied skills and knowledge while
considering a variety of viewpoints on historical interpretations. He received an A in my class both
semesters. Bilal takes honors, AP and IB courses. His academic GPA of 4.45 shows that he is a serious
and dedicated student. This year he is taking four AP classes. He is passionate about the sciences and is
considering the study of Chemical Engineering. He has the respect of the faculty on campus.

Bilal is a valued member of the Varsity Baseball Team. While the actual baseball season is in the spring,
the team plays fall and winter ball in order to sharpen their skills. This means that in addition to keeping
up on classwork and homework, Bilal practices year round six days a week. He has developed excellent
time management skills. Last year, as we held Saturday reviews for external exams, he would show up in
uniform, participate in the review, and then hurry off to a game.

In terms of being involved in our community, Bilal has kept busy. Looking to expand his learning and
apply it to a real world setting, Bilal works as a volunteer in the laboratory of our local hospital. He has
already volunteered 50 hours. He also achieved the Life Scout distinction in Boy Scouts. This required
significant time and community service. Bilal is a member of our California Scholastic Federation club. He
is a Black belt in Chinese Martial Arts Kempo and helps teach at his local studio. Finally, he works at a
local mall to help pay for his school expenses.

In order to better prepare for college, Bilal has also taken courses at the local community college. He is
taking Arabic in order to practice the language of his heritage. He has also taken Astronomy. Bilal will be
academically prepared for college.

Most importantly, Bilal is a wonderful, generous, and sincere young man. I greatly miss having him in
class this year. He is well liked and humble. I offer him my highest recommendation for this scholarship.
Please feel free to contact me with any further questions.

Sincerely,

Erica Glennon
