Study of Perinatal Complications Pattern in Preeclampsia and Non
Preeclampsia Patients in Muna District General Hospital By: Nurmawadha Safaad K1A1 16 013 Background. Preeclampsia is one of the main causes of perinatal morbidity and mortality in Indonesia. Until now preeclampsia is still a midwifery problem that cannot be solved completely. Preeclampsia is a disease whose incidence in each country is different. More incidents occur in developing countries than in developed countries. Perinatal mortality rates include the number of stillbirths and neonatal deaths per 1000 total births. According to Southeast Sulawesi BPS data the number of stillbirths in 2013 was 560 out of 47,939 births, while for the Muna district in the same year the number of stillbirths was 70 out of 5,969 births with asphyxia, low birth weight (LBW) causes, carrier disorders and others. Method. This study uses a descriptive observational research design and is retrospective in the Muna District Hospital. The total sample of 72 patients, with independent variables are preeclampsia and non preeclampsia while the dependent variable is perinatal complications. Data were collected using medical record data in accordance with inclusion criteria, then analyzed using univariate analysis to see the distribution of samples and frequency of events. Results. Univariate analysis results showed characteristics in the form of asphyxia in preeclampsia (23.7%), non preeclampsia (23.7%), prematurity in preeclampsia (5.3%), non preeclampsia (7.9%), low birth weight (LBW) in LBW preeclampsia (10.5%), non preeclampsia (11.8%), intra uterine growth retriction (IUGR) in preeclampsia (9.2%), non preeclampsia (6.6%) and intra uterine fetal death (IUFD) in preeclampsia (1.3%) and no cases of IUFD were found due to non-preeclampsia. Conclusion. Perinatal complications of preeclampsia and non-preeclampsia include asphyxia, prematurity, low birth weight (LBW), intra-uterine growth retriction and intra-uterine fetal death (IUFD). However, in non-preeclampsia there were no cases of preeclampsia without intra-uterine fetal death (IUFD) complications. Keywords. Fetal death, perinatal complications, preeclampsia, non preeclampsia.
