In a Nutshell Activity 1: Based from the definition of the most essential terms in the study of curriculum
and the learning exercises that you have done, please feel free to write your arguments or lessons
learned below. I have indicated my arguments or lessons learned.

1. WSD Design can still be used in the design of structures used for chemical storage

2. USD Design can be used for building structures and other similar structures.

3. Working Stress Method have three (3) limitations.

4. Reinforced concrete is a combination of concrete and steel wherein the steel reinforcement provides
the tensile strength lacking in the concrete.

5. For designing a reinforced concrete there four important codes that are primarily used (ACI 318,
NSCP, AASHTO, and AREA).

6. Bond between steel and concrete is perfect with in elastic limit of steel.

7. Ultimate strength design is widely and extensively used for reinforced concrete design.

8. The factored load is equal to the sum of all service loads, each multiplied by its own load factor.

9. The load factors and resistance factors are introduced to limit the probability of failure and yet permit
economical structures.

10. Ultimate Stress Design Method have five (5) limitations.
