Mr Peter Williams, IS DPP ERS (4337) – Colonel Thomas Hoenig, IMS L&R/LOG (5475)
Following the LCEG held on the 4th Feb. 21 in an LPOC format, the undersigning LCEG Representatives are
honored to submit a proposal for the revision of the MC319. In light of the comments provided by Nations to
the draft proposed by the IS/IMS staff in July 2020, this draft reflects the main goals of having a shorter, usable
document, reflecting the will to keep the current scope of Logistic policy. It also reflects how Logistics serves
the Military Instrument of Power, while implementing the NMS and the DDA. Finally, it reflects national
expectations towards NATO Logistic Principles and Policy.
This draft is a consolidated document resulting from close coordination between several Allies. Each of them
could express his views, expectations and requirements.
We are all mindful that this overarching document has to be reviewed and discussed among Allies before being
approved, as the cornerstone of the Alliance Logistics. It has to remain useful, consistent and in line with Allies
expectations. Hence, all cosignatories kindly request the IS/IMS to forward the attached proposed document to
the LCEG Representatives as an initial baseline for discussion. Consultation and discussion could occur during
workshops aiming at drafting the final MC319.
In this perspective, we are sure that the great expertise and experience of LCEG Representatives will bring a real
added value to reach the Alliance goal.
