Work instruction for 05/06TF ECM reprogramming by Pass-Thru (SPS)

Necessary Tool.

1. PC ( which TIS2000 Update Version 23.3 GE onward is available )

2. Tech2 ( which Tech2 software Version 11.180 onward is available ) On the vehicle
3. Hardware key
4. RS-232 cable ( For connecting PC and Tech2 )
5. AC adaptor for PC

1) Check whether it is the affected vehicle or not.

2) Move a vehicle to repair shop.

3) Confirm battery is fully charged. ( approx. 12.4 V )

4) Connect Tech2 to vehicle.

5) Connect Tech2 to PC by RS-232 cable.

6) Connect hardware key to PC.

7) Turn on Tech2 and wait title screen, then turn on ignition with engine off.

Harness clip 8) Turn on PC and open program TIS2000.

Constant voltage should be supplied to PC when doing ECU reprogramming.

9) Start SPS ( Service Programming System )

14) In case this caution info. is shown, confirm all of harnesses and cables connections
again, then click OK.
If it is shown again, turn off PC, Tech2, SW of SW-BOX and SW of power
supply.
Wait for 10 minutes and try again from "STEP 2".

15) In case ECM was replaced with new one before, caution info. will be shown
on PC display.
Click OK for closing caution info.

16) Reconfirm connection between PC and Tech2.

18 17) Reconfirm connection between Tech2 and vehicle.

18) Click Next.

19) Input correct VIN ( Vehicle Indentification Number ) 17 Digits.

Confirm VIN that be shown on vehicle name plate

21) In case ECM was replaced with new one before, this will be shown on PC
display.
Select Engine, then click Next.

In case of "ECM of 2.5L MT", you do not need to select it.

27) Confirm current ECM number and reprogramming ECM number.

28) Reconfirm vehicle data box shows correct info.

30) PC transfers data to vehicle.

31) Wait until transfering data completely.

Do not disconnect cable and harness when reprogramming ECM.

32) Click Close.

33) Turn off ignition and wait for 30 seconds.

35) Disconnect PC from Tech2.

36) Check ECM part number by using Tech2.
ECM P/No. will be changed after reprogramming.

37) Check DTC.

If you find DTCs, please erase them and check DTC again.

38) Turn off Tech2 and disconnect it from vehicle.

39) Start engine and check conditions.

40) Record a result of ECM reprogramming on its vehicle.
