a. Increase parent engagement
b. Inform on child behavior
c. Ask questions; get to know parents and students better
d. Create goals for the student
4. Questions you will ask:
a. How does your child talk about school? Do they enjoy it? Do they have any
specific frustrations?
b. How do you feel your child is doing in school?
c. Do you have any questions or suggestions for me?
5. Sample teacher form (strengths and opportunities for improvement)
a. 2 stars and a wish
b. “I noticed your child really enjoys reading books about ‘x’. Is that something you
share together? Maybe I could send home a few more books like that for you to
read together so we can get them to the next reading level.”
c. Go over specific behavior (or academic) difficulties. Provide evidence if possible.
d. Make a goal sheet with the parents (and the student if they are present).
