The Philippine National Police (PNP) said on January 5 (Tuesday), that the identification of suspects was

enough to consider that the death of flight attendant Christine Dacera as a “case solved.”

Brig. Gen. Ilderbrandi Usana, PNP spokesperson said in an interview that the case is considered solved
because the suspects have been identified and the PNP forensics unit (SOCO) resolved the cause of
death and initial investigation showed that Dacera has been sexually abused. Usana defined it as “case
solved” since the suspects were identified and “case cleared” if all suspects had been arrested. These
statements were made by the PNP while waiting for the autopsy results and toxicology report on
Dacera.

Senator Cynthia Villar blamed the Philippine Carabao Center (PCC) and the National Dairy Authority
(NDA) for the lack of affordable milk in the country that she claimed to contribute to the poor academic
performance of Filipino students. “Children are made to drink milk so that they would be smarter,” the
Villar said while pointing out the second lowest ranking of Filipino students in math and science by the
International Student Assessment. The senator also hinted against an unnamed PCC official who she
claimed tried to mishandle the budget for the said organization. She also lashed out at agriculture
executives and bewailed the poor implementation of the Department of Education’s “Gulayan sa
Paaralan” program and claimed that only few schools were adopting the program.
