“Do Not Love Me Back”

No matter how many times I’ve said how I love you,

Do not love me back.

No matter how often you got fond of me,

And I to you,
Please.
Do not love me back.

No matter how often you can see yourself in my paintings,

Please.
I beg you,
Do not love me back.

For my heart’s cold though not enclosed in ice,

But in the abyss of darkness no one can withstand.
And the warmth you can see in my masterpieces is nothing but fraud.
Nothing but lies… And that is the truth.

And I’ll continue to paint you as if you’re my very world,

In every nook, in every cranny,
In every stroke, in every brush,
You will be etched there as if you’re the sole of my existence.

But still, do not love me back.

For in everything I create, I destroy as much.
In everything that is given, I break it like glass.
And if you love me back, you will give me your heart,

I don’t want it,

Take it back.
Please do not love me back.
