African slave identification with the experiences of the Hebrew slaves from the Book of

Exodus in the Bible was very strong. What are some of the similarities and differences that
you notice between these two historical experiences of oppression?

Moses had turned the Hebrew slaves into a proper nation. A number of great men as well as
women have been favored by the Bible, who later made important contributions to the Jewish
culture. However, the best of them was Moses as he was an exemplary man. Not only was Moses
blessed with the title of a Prophet but he was also the father of all the Prophets who came after
him. Moses was also looked upon as a superior example whose footsteps were followed by the
prophets who came after him. The standards set by him were of inspiration to the godly
preachers who came after him and preached in their own distinctive way. Their preaching were
inspired by Moses. However, the African American slaves did not have a say in their matter.

Moving on, the life style and traditions of living for the African Americans completely altered
after their living conditions changed due to their scenario. However, some of the main
components of their culture were still carried on during this time, for example, music drumming,
dancing, and contemporary art. These components were the anchor of the culture of African
American community as they did not only keep the traditions alive but integrated them into the
U.S community as well. These traditions and trends can still be spotted in the African American
community of the U.S in the world of today.

There are other similarities among both of the communities under discussion as well. A common
similarity among both the communities is that a number of human rights violations were
committed against them. Even basic human rights were not given to them. As a result, absence of
basic rights had a negative psychological and biological impact on the people. Their
psychological abilities were hampered and their physical features were disturbed. Such atrocities
have been committed against most slave communities around the world throughout history which
have resulted in numerous adverse effects on their generations.
