Abstract. Radioactive waste is a radionuclide contaminated waste at concentrations that exceed the
permitted level (Clearance Level) set by the Indonesia Nuclear Energy Regulatory Agency. This
research will processed several different solid radioactive waste samples such as plastic jar, plastic
jerrycan, gloves, etc. which all have been radioactively contaminated, thus cannot be used anymore.
These samples will then be shredded by the shredder machine. This research purposes the designing
of blades which will then used for the 25 litre capacity shredder machine began with preliminary
calculation to determine the machine’s dimension. The 2D design of the blades were drawn using
AutoCAD software, and continued to create 3D designs using Autodesk Inventor software. Blades will
be tested for work using 1:5,6 gear ratio to ensure how much the moment needed to shredded the
samples with good results.
