The Correct Policy

Corona Virus Disease-19 (COVID-19) has been stand for almost a year-
passed in our universe. Since then the society has been caught to and endless
suffering. Many of our own affected by COVID-19, in fact, economical issues get
really turned up from these past few months. The poor are really getting aware of this
particular matter. Different from the rich, they shouldn’t be worrying about
economical issues for instance.
We have to be aware that the economic sector is undergoing a degression for
the past few months. Therefore, many people are forced by this condition to surviving
along in pandemic situation under many ways of their own. For example, they are
counting on the government aids, such as monetary aid, food aid, and groceries stuff.
However, the fact has shown that these people are more needing the money rather
than other stuff.

On the other hand, the government still having another to be concern about,
which is the construction field notably in Indonesia. Infrastructure development has
increased under President Joko Widodo authority period. The pandemic that hit
Indonesia isn’t an obstacle to realizing his vision. There are 89 new national strategic
project proposals that occur in the 2020-2024 period which costs Rp1.422 trillion.

Indonesian Ministry of Public Works has spoken that initially, they have
approximately budget around Rp120,21 trillion number, which had to be reallocated
to as much as Rp24,5 trillion. This will be used as an aid for the people of Indonesia
whose affected by COVID-19. As a result, the remaining budget getting a cut off
becoming Rp75,63 trillion number. They are having another issue because of this.
They have to be paid the manpower that exists in the project they have. At the start of
the pandemic COVID-19 situation, there are many construction workers who are
getting mass dismissal unavoidably.

These construction workers, have to think of another way to get survived in

this condition. But today, the construction site managers have found a way to carry on
the project. This actively demonstrates that construction workers are getting their job
back. They have to follow the Health Protocol that prevails in every place of each site
so that the work progress could proceed.

To sum up everything that has been stated so far, the people had to survive in
this pandemic COVID-19. With the government policy to turn the Indonesian
Ministry of Public Works budget into people’s helping fund, the construction field
notably infrastructure development has been delayed. We believed that the
government step is precisely the right thing to do on this occasion. So that the
progress could still go up in the construction development program chart with the
budget and power that exist. The utilization of proper funds is the right solution that
the government did.
