EXAMINER REMARKS

List A
Musette in D Major, BWV Anh. 126 - Bach, Johann Sebastian, attr.
RH 16th notes cleanly executed with a good sense of the pulse. Some significant slowing at m. 13 and there were
technical challenges throughout that line. LH articulation was consistent and you offered a nice buoyancy in the octaves.
Register shifts were not quite on time - there were gaps here today. Overall you have demonstrated a good understanding
of the musical style.

List B
Sonatina in G Major: I - Attwood, Thomas
Beautiful sense of flow and elegance in opening phrases. Hands were very well coordinated and balanced. Some rushing
at at m. 18-19 and a small slip at m. 24 marred an otherwise musical and secure performance.

List C

Page 1/2
The Song of Twilight - Nakada, Yoshinao
Lovely sense of shaping of the main motif in the RH. Tempo was steady and you kept a good sense of flow and space
throughout. LH could be much softer, especially on the second note of a repeated chord, and pedal technique needs
some attention to ensure you're changing with the harmonic movmement. Overall a musical and sensitve performance.

Technical Tests
Scales generally correct but some fingering issues prevented you from a legato finish on F maj. Minor scales correct but
with slips. Formula pattern had a couple of hesitations but was otherwise fluent. Triads were well done despite
inconsistent fingering.

Etude 1
Arabesque, op. 100, no. 2 - Burgmüller, Johann Friedrich
Good facility in fast runs in both hands. Make sure to observe articulation in LH as well. Good recovery from a couple of
small slips. The tempo got faster through the last line today.

Etude 2
Chinese Lanterns, op. 46, no. 3 - Niemann, Walter
Good attention to articulation and rhythms. Do make sure to keep the staccato short on the second note of a repeated
note as well. Some difficulty on 3rd line today caused some hesitations and interfered with the flow, but otherwise it was
secure. Final rolled chord was very well executed.

Intervals
Perfect 4 identified as min 3.

Playback
You got this after a few tries.

Rhythm
This came out in 4/4 rather than 3/4 so there were extra beats added in each bar. Trouble also with the dotted rhythm.
