THE FROG PRINCE

The story is told as a rap. The children are divided into two groups: group
one raps the story, and group two the responses.

Group 1 Group 2
Once there was a princess, Ooh such a pretty one,
Sitting by a well, Deep well,
Playing with a ball, Bouncy, bouncy
Ball went and fell. Butter fingers!

Help, cried the princess, Ooh, such a silly one,

What’ll I do? Help M,e, help me!
Lost my ball! Bouncy, splash!
Boo hoo hooo! Cry baby.

Up jumped a frog, Splash, hip, hoppity,

Out of the well, Deep well,
Said he was a prince, Ha, not likely!
Talked about a spell. Ooooooeeee!

Talked about a witch, Ha, ha, ha!

In a pointy hat. Ooooh ! scary !
Waved her wand, Flash, bang, zap!
And that was that! Poor frog!

Together :

You can break the spell like this,

One little kiss, one little kiss,
I will get your ball back, miss,
But I gotta have a little bitty kiss, mwah!

“Done”! said the princess, Ooh, such a crafty one!

Down he went, Deep well,
Got the ball back, Bouncy, bouncy,
What a gent! Nice guy!

Off went the princess, Ooh, such a mean one,

Left him there, Boo, hoo, hooo,
Got no kiss, Mwah, mwah!
That’s not fair! Grrrrrrrrr!

Up to the castle, Splash, hip, hoppity,

Let me in! Rat-a-tat-tat

King came and answered, Who can that be?
What’s that din? Only me!
‘sire, your daughter, Ooh, such a sneaky one,
Told me a lie. Ooh such a big one!
Promised me a kiss, Mwah! Mwah!
Then waved goodbye! Toodle-oodle-oo!

Together :
Said she’d break the spell like this,
One little kiss, one little kiss,
Went and got the ball for Miss
But I never got a little bitty kiss, MWAH!

So ? said the princess, Ooh, such a stroppy one

‘ I don’t kiss frogs, They’re so slimy!
Send for the guards, dad Quick, march, quick, march!
Send for the dogs!’ Grrrr, woof!

‘Wait!’ said the king Just a little bit cross now

‘That’s not right! Wise words
Give the frog a kiss, miss Mwah! Mwah!
Be polite!’ Show some manners!

‘Oh,’ sighed the princess, Ooh, such a sulky one,

‘Right, here goes,’ Quite reluctant,
Picked up the frog, Splash, hip, hoppety,
Kissed his nose. Mwah! Mwah!

Bolt of lightning, Flash, bang, pop!

Screams and cries, Arrrgh! Help!
Frog was a prince, Tall and handsome,
Big surprise! Oooooooeeee!

Together :

All it took was one little kiss,

One little kiss, one little kiss,
Now they live in wedded bliss
And the story ends like this –MWAH!
