I’m going to talk about a movement call Black Lives Matter

Black Lives Matter is an international and decentralized movement originated within the African
American community. It began in 2013 with the use of the #BlackLivesMatter hashtag on social
media, after George Zimmerman's wasn’t chargedd for Trayvon Martin’s murder. This boy was
African-American teenager.

Black Lives Matter began to gain national recognition for its demonstrations after the deaths of two
African Americans in 2014 - Michael Brown and Eric Garner, leading to protests and riots in Ferguson
and New York.2 3 Since during the Ferguson protests, participants in the The movement have
demonstrated against the killing of numerous African Americans by police actions, including those of
Tamir Rice, Eric Harris, Walter Scott….

On the night of February 26, 2012, in Sanford, Florida, United States, George Zimmerman fatally shot
Trayvon Martin, a 17-year-old African-American student. Zimmerman, a 28-year-old mixed race
man, [Note 1] was the neighborhood watch coordinator for his gated community where Martin was
visiting relatives at the time of the shooting. Zimmerman shot Martin, who was unarmed, during a
physical altercation between the two. Zimmerman, injured during the encounter, claimed self-
defense in the confrontation.

In a widely reported trial, Zimmerman was charged with murder in Martin's death, but acquitted at
trial after claiming self-defense. The incident was reviewed by the Justice Department for possible
civil rights violations, but no additional charges were filed, citing insufficient evidence.

To conclude I think the police have a perjudice against African-American that they think always do
somenthing bad.

Since all this began in 2013 the people continue fighting to stop the killings that happen only
because of their black skin.
