2. What is Human Development Index (HDI)? What are the three components of HDI and
explain each? In the excel file that was given to each of you, compare the Philippines
among Japan, South Korea, China, Taiwan, and Singapore in terms of the HDI index and
analyze the countries with respect to the three components? What are the programs of
the national government to increase the rank of the Philippines in the HDI?
3. What is Green GDP? What is the program of the national government of the Philippines
in terms of the pollution emission, global warming, ozone layer depletion, and the
damage brought by the past typhoon? Give one good program of the national
government to rehabilitate the environment.
4. In the context of the definition of the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) and the
Banko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) define the Exchange Rate Method, and Purchasing Power
Parity (PPP). Compare the Philippines, Japan, South Korea, China, Taiwan, and Singapore
in terms of the following: Exchange Rate Method, and Purchasing Power Parity (PPP). Use
graphical representation to compare the two.
5. In the type of covid – 19 vaccine that we have, as of now we have Astrazeneca, Pfizer,
and Sinovac. Are their prices within the context of EFFICIENCY or EQUITY. Explain.
