COMPANY SAFETY RULES & REGULATIONS

1. All employees & visitors must follow safety rules and regulations. Any employee violating
Mitcham Canada ULC’s rules & regulations or safe work practices will be subject to discipline at
Management’s discretion. Visitors will be asked to leave property.
2. Employees are expected to work and conduct themselves in a safe and orderly manner.
3. CSA & Company approved safety glasses with side shields must be worn, as per their designed use,
in all designated eye protection areas. (e.g. Covering your eyes, not the top of your head)
4. CSA & Company approved footwear will be worn, as per their designed use, in all PPE designated
areas. (e.g. Worn on your feet)
5. ONLY trained and licensed forklift operators shall operate the forklifts. No employee is allowed to
ride on the forklift other than the operator.
6. Reflective striping or non-altered safety vests are required for forklift operators &/or anyone in the
PPE zones.
7. All machine guards and safety devices must be used at all time and must not be tampered with.
8. Employees must be familiar with the Material Safety Data Sheets for the controlled products they
use. No employee will deface or remove a workplace label on hazardous material container.
9. All areas of building must be kept clean and orderly.
10. Consumption of food beyond the yellow lines (designated PPE zones) is not allowed. All drink
containers at the workbenches must be covered at all times.
11. Employees will practice good personal hygiene by washing their hands before consuming food or
smoking.
12. Running, horseplay and riding the pallet jack are unsafe act and are therefore not allowed.
13. All accidents, incidents, near misses, unsafe acts &/or conditions must be reported to a supervisor as
soon as possible.
14. Defective tools must be replaced or taken out of service for repair. Safety related maintenance
issues must be reported to the supervisor immediately.
15. Drinking or working under the influence of or in the possession of an intoxicant on company
property is not allowed.
