CONCLUSIONS

According to our 2 panels and thesis adviser who’s our professors on I.T

department and campus librarian it was found out that the developed Website was useful

enough in update all events and announcements about school library. It was also helpful

during this pandemic because of COVID, students are not able to go to physical school

library of CapSU to study and borrow books. Through the development of Software, the

System was more efficient and effective than the manual process.

1. The Website was very helpful because they can search, download, copy, view and

print book without going to the physical library.

2. The Website is very beneficial to the student, faculty and staff of the School and

the librarian for having enough information and book equipment of the library.

3. The Website was very helpful to the student, staff and teacher because they can

update or be updated in terms of events, announcements and update about User.

4. The users can view the content, announcements and events of the school anytime,

anywhere.

Gale Virtual Reference Library

Gale Virtual Reference Library is a database of encyclopedias and specialized

reference sources for multidisciplinary research. These reference materials once were

accessible only in the library, but now you can access them online from the library or

remotely 24/7. Because each library creates its own eBook collection, the content you see

may vary if you use the database at different libraries (your school, your public library, or

your office).

This collection consists more than 1,950 journals and magazines.

GREENR (Global Reference on the Environment, Energy, and Natural Resources)

The Global Reference on the Environment, Energy, and Natural Resources focuses

on the physical, social, and economic aspects of environmental issues. Topic,

organization, and country portals form research centers around issues covering energy

systems, health care, agriculture, climate change, population, and economic development.
104

Portals include authoritative analysis, academic journals, news, case studies, legislation,

conference proceedings, primary source documents, statistics, and rich multimedia. Use

Browse Issues and Topics, World Map, Basic Search or Advanced Search to explore the

database.

Emerald Insight

Emerald is a global publisher providing you with the highest quality, peer-reviewed

research. With over 45 years' experience, Emerald manages a portfolio of almost 300

journals.

Many of our titles are indexed by Thomson Reuters (ISI) and Emerald has outperformed

the market with 64 per cent of our indexed titles seeing an increase in their Impact

Factors for 2014 (source: Thomson Reuters Journal Citation Reports 2014).

With 80 per cent of our journals also indexed by Scopus, and new articles added

continually, a subscription ensures access to up-to-date, high quality content for users,

researchers and practitioners, combining research rigour with practical relevance.

Philippine eJournals

The Philippine E-Journals is an expanding collection of academic journals that are

made accessible globally through a single Web-based platform. It is hosted by C&E

Publishing, Inc., a premier educational publisher in the Philippines and a leader in the

distribution of integrated information-based solutions which include e-learning products,

library automation and interactive media systems, and online library resources containing

databases, e-books, and online journals.

105

Through this platform, C&E and the participating academic institutions and professional

organizations aim to:

 Promote the research works done by Filipino scholars;

 Improve the online visibility and readership of the Philippines' academic journals

in the worldwide research community; and

 Offer electronic publishing as an alternative, cost-efficient method of supporting

and promoting scholarly publications done by Filipinos.

GLOSSARY
142

Definition of Terms

The following terminology are the action which the programmer use and also for

the user understanding

Adobe Photoshop

is a raster graphics editor developed and published by Adobe Inc. for mac OS and

Windows. It was originally created in 1988 by Thomas and John Knoll. Photoshop uses

its own PSD and PSB file formats to support these features.

Domain name

A domain name is a unique name (e.g. google.com) used to identify the location of

a website on a web server. When you access a website through a web browser like

Google Chrome, the domain name is translated to an Internet Protocol (IP) address (e.g.

172.217.12.206) which represents the server on which the website is hosted. This

translation is dynamically performed by a domain name server (DNS).

DNS

Domain Name Servers are the Internet’s equivalent of a phone book or directory.

They keep an updated list of domain names and translate them back into IP addresses.

This is necessary because, although domain names are easy for humans to remember,

computers (which include all devices that can connect to the internet) use IP addresses to

access websites.
143

URL

A Uniform Resource Locator (URL) is the file address of a resource on the

Internet. A URL can represent a web page, an image, a video, a style sheet, and much

more. A URL typically consists of several components, including but not limited to:

Web Server

Web Servers are used to store, process and deliver web pages to clients (e.g. web

browsers like Google Chrome). Although you could purchase a server to run your

website, most businesses use cloud storage services such as Amazon Web Services

(AWS) to host websites due to the cost savings and added security.

Web Browser

A web browser, often referred to as a “browser” is a software application used for

accessing information on the Web. Some of the most popular web browsers include

Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Internet Explorer, Edge, and Opera. As with all software

applications, web browsers have different features and functionality, appealing to

different user types.IP Address

An Internet Protocol address is a unique numerical label assigned to each device

connected to the Internet, including computers, phones, tablets, servers, cars, and more. A

quick Google search for “what is my IP address” will bring up the IP address associated

with your internet connection.

HTML, CSS, JavaScript

144

Websites consist of an array of content (like images and text) as well as interactive

elements like forms, games, and animations. To render the desired results, your web

browser relies on programming languages, primarily HTML, CSS and Javascript, to

accomplish what is required.

HTML

Whichstands for HyperText Markup Language, is used to identify the different

elements on a page such as paragraphs, titles, images, and links.

CSS, also known as Cascading Style Sheet, is used to give your website its style. Fonts,

colors, sizes, spacing, borders, backgrounds, and shadows are just a few examples of

what can be adjusted using CSS.

Javascript

Is a client side programming language which means the source code is processed

by the client’s web browser rather than on the Web server. This allows the language to

run actions on a page after a page has been fully loaded. An example would be sending

an error message if there are missing form fields without having to submit the request to

the Web Server.

HTML,

Which stands for HyperText Markup Language, is used to identify the different

elements on a page such as paragraphs, titles, images, and links.

HTTP/HTTPS

HyperText Transfer Protocol Secure (HTTPS) is the secure version of HTTP, the

protocol over which data is sent between your browser and the website you’re connected
145

to. To ensure a safe connection for your website, you will need to get an HTTPS

certificate.

Hosting

In order to get a website online, you need to host (or save) your website files on a

Web server connected to the internet. Hosting service providers are a type of business

that enables individuals to save and access their website quickly without having to

purchase and connect their own web server. Most website builders include hosting within

their subscriptions.

The term XAMPP is an apparent acronym. However, there is no official acronym

expansion specified on the Apache Friends website. Their homepage header reads

"XAMPP Apache + MariaDB + PHP + Perl", indicating that this abbreviation is a recursive

acronym.

Website

A location connected to the Internet that maintains one or more pages on the World

Wide Web.

Windows 10

Is a Microsoft operating system for personal computers, tablets, embedded devices

and internet of things devices? IT or users can access a Windows 10 upgrade through

the Windows Update Assistant to manually begin an upgrade or wait

for Windows Update to offer an upgrade when it is set to run.

146

SYMBOLS

Input – Any information or data that is sent to

a computer for processing is considered input.

Process - A process is an instance of a

program running in a computer.

Display- makes a prominent exhibition of
