CHAPTER 5

SUMMARY, CONCLUSION, AND RECOMMENDATION

A. Summary

People nowadays need something to use as a self-defense. The researchers planned to

make a handy taser with pepper spray covered in rubber shock proof exterior. Tasers are

commonly used by policemen as an alternative to guns. A taser electrocutes a person that causes

the person to collapse or unable to move for a few minutes. Pepper spray is commonly used as a

self-defense because it causes a burning sensation to the eyes that can help a victim escape quickly

without harming the suspect. According to Dr. Matthew Stanbrook (2009) "Tasers are perfectly

safe and have never, ever killed anyone," We know this because Taser International . . . says so,

claiming 'the taser . . . cannot stop the heart.' In line with this the researchers experimented and

assembled materials to make it as a taser and the researchers made also the pepper spray using

pepper, chili and alcohol. The researchers gathered data by observing the testing of the product

to the researchers’ chosen respondent through the help of authorized persons. After that, the

researchers recorded their findings and results. The researchers’ observation says that the taser

is electrocuted the person and produced 1.8 volts per click. This caused only the person to feel

numbness for about 1 – 2 minutes only. The pepper spray caused burning sensation and lasted for

about 6 – 10 minutes.
