Subject: CHERY Link / Android Auto Update

Model: Tiggo 2 (A13T) AT Date: November 18, 2020

Purpose

Chery Auto Philippines is issuing this bulletin to address the concern regarding
connectivity issues of Android phones with our Tiggo2 Head Unit. The main purpose of this
Technical Service Bulletin is to update the firmware of the Head Unit of Tiggo 2 in order to work
with most Android phones. Please note that due to fast software upgrades by mobile phone
manufacturers, this TSB might not work 100% with ALL Android phones.

Procedure

Please perform the Technical Bulletin for the following:

 Tiggo 2 AT – Perform this Technical Service Bulletin for Tiggo 2 AT to update


its head unit.
 Tiggo 2 AT – if the unit is already released, this must be scheduled prior to the
PMS or scheduled by the customer.

Please refer to Annex 1 on how to update the Tiggo 2 AT head unit, and Annex 2 on how
to use Chery Link with Android Phones.

ANNEX 1:
Operation Guide on how to update the Head Unit of Tiggo 2 AT for the Android Auto.

1. The following 9 files must be copied to an 8 GB Flash Drive or higher. After copying, this
flash drive must be inserted on the lower USB Port of the Head Unit. (These files are
included in the email attachment)
2. After connecting the flash drive to the USB Port, the volume of the head unit must be
brought down to “zero”. Then go to HOME and click “SETUP”.

3. Select “SYSTEM”.

4. Please click the portions in sequence (starting from 1 to 4) to enter the version
information and diagnosis system of the head unit. Please refer to the 4 DOTS below.
5. If step #4 is successful, you will be redirected to the screen below. Select “VERSION
INFORMATION”.

6. Select “SOFTWARE UPDATE”.

7. The requirements indicated in the screen must be met before upgrading the system.
Select “AFTER READING”
8. Select “Update CheryLink”. Select “OK” to begin Updating. After Updating the head unit
select “OK” to restart the system and the updating will be completed.

ANNEX 2:
Operation Guide on how to access Android Auto to your android phone.

1. Before pairing the Android Auto to your Android Phone, make sure that the “USB
Debugging” in the Developer’s Option in SETTINGS is turned ON. If this is not enabled,
the phone will not be recognized by the head unit. This function can be found on
additional settings.
a. Note: Some Android Phones does not have the Developer Option readily available.
The Developer’s Option must be manually opened thru the phone. Please see
sample links attached. You can search the internet on how to do this for a specific
phone model.

2. After turning the USB Debugging ON, “Qdrive Application” must be installed in the
Android Phone. It can be downloaded in the PlayStore.

3. Connect the phone to the USB port with a Data Cable. Connect the phone to the Head Unit via
Bluetooth as well.
4. When prompted, allow the use of Qdrive in the phone.
5. Update Qdrive to the latest version when prompted. Internet Connectivity / 3G / LTE is needed.
6. If successful, Qdrive in the phone will connect with CHERY LINK in the Head Unit resulting in
screen mirroring.
