Our goal from the start of
this program has been to
help the people of our
community get the medical
care they need when it can’t
be given to them locally.
How we do it
With an amazing group of
your Firefighters putting
in countless volunteer
hours to give back to the
people that support us.
What we have accomplished:

Since we started in 2016 we have been able to give back $300,000.00 to

the community and assist 120 families with medical travel needs.
These funds are for people that are in a time of need. Along with facing
the burden of medical conditions, these people would other wise also be
fighting the financial burden of what it takes to get the required care
outside of our community. In some cases not having the funding to get
the care need at all.
Going forward
• We were aware of the need for a program like ours in the community, but it
has become larger than expected.

• Now the on going task of maintaining it is what we are trying to prepare for.
• Making things more efficient is our approach to achieve this.
• Besides the annual fireman’s ball our biggest fundraisers are the events we
put on or are asked to make a presence at.

• While trying to meet the city’s policy for use of city equipment for fundraisers,
we have found ourselves in tough situations to make the presence we would
like to.
What are we looking for?
A truck!

• We would like to come to an

agreement to acquire the old E-1.

• The first new fire truck the city

ever had and a piece of the fire
dept history.

• The truck has been in storage

since it was taken out of service
in 2001, costing the city money
and space.
The goal
• Getting sponsors to help get the
truck back into show condition.

• Modifying it to be used for all our

event need.

• While still maintaining the history

of the truck and its place in the
City of Fort St. John.

• With the support of our chiefs

and council we would like to
eventually have it on display in
front our our fire hall for years to
come.
Thank you!
