Dear Diana C. Lobosco STEM Parents and Students,
First, I would like to thank you for your continued support and cooperation as we progress
through this unprecedented school year. As you are well aware, the pandemic has affected
every aspect of our lives, especially in the education of our students. Throughout these
many months, the district has continued to closely monitor all COVID-19 data and followed
all CDC and NJ Department of Health recommendations and guidelines. The health, safety
and emotional well-being of our students and staff are always our top priority and we will
continue to adapt our learning models accordingly.
We recognize the importance of in-person instruction and daily social interaction, and its
impact on our students. Therefore, I am pleased to announce that effective Tuesday,
February 16th, PCTVS will re-open to students and faculty with in-person learning using
half day hybrid schedules for students. The existing student cohorts will remain in place.
The in-person learning model is designed to reduce student screen time and allow for
personalized learning time during afternoon hours. This is especially important for
struggling and at-risk students, but can also assist high level learners with the rigors of
advanced coursework. Further, it is designed to improve student engagement in SEL
activities, AAP, SES and other afterschool support programs.
As we resume in-person classes on February 16th, we encourage those students who have
previously opted for a full remote virtual learning schedule to take advantage of in-person
instruction through our current hybrid learning model. If interested, kindly contact your
child’s school counselor for additional information.
