ASSISTANT COMMISSIONERAssistant Executive Officers/SECTION OFFICER

1.                  The written examination shall include four compulsory subjects and optional subjects. A candidate shall
take all four compulsory subjects and three (03) of the optional subjects, subject to the following
restrictions:
(a)    Not more than two subjects shall be taken from each group.
(b)    Not  more than two subjects shall be taken from the following subjects:
i.                     Arabic Literature Period-I.
ii.                   Arabic Literature Period-II.
iii.                  Islamic History Period-I.
iv.                  Islamic History Period-II.
v.                   Islamiat.
 
2.                   A candidate shall answer the papers in English, unless otherwise directed.
3.                   Time allowed for each paper shall be three hours.
4.                   The compulsory and optional subjects and maximum marks allocated to each subject shall be as
shown below:

             All papers shall be of three hours’ duration.

No candidate shall be summoned for Viva Voce test unless he/she obtained at least 33 percent marks in
each individual written paper and 50 percent marks in aggregate of the written portion of the examination.
No candidate shall be considered to have qualified in the examination unless he/ she obtained at least 50
per cent marks in Viva Voce test. Failure in or absence from Viva Voce test shall mean that the candidate
has failed to qualify  for appointment and his name will not be included in the merit list.

Optional subjects for Civil Judges post are the same as for the posts of Section Officers excluding Applied
Mathematics (Group-C), Criminal Law, Civil Law, and Journalism (Group-E). Unlike for the post of Section Officers,
all optional subjects here are of 100 marks each. 
 All papers shall be of three hours’ duration.

 PAPER – I (JOURNALISM)
Theory, cannons and kinds of journalism; brief history of Pakistan Movement; press history of Pakistan since
independence; Pakistan Press Laws; press in Balochistan today; mass communication and its influence; public
relations; advertising and role of journalism in nation building and Socio-economic reconstructions in the
developing country like Pakistan; educational writing on a given topic or news reporting on a given situation.
 
PAPER – II (GENERAL KNOWLEDGE)
Essay on one of several topics; current affairs (international, national and Balochistan) and everyday science.
INFORMATION OFFICER (ONE PAPER) (B-16)

A note on International Current Affairs;

A note on National Current Affairs;
Translation of a Newspaper passage.

4.                   No candidate shall be considered to have qualified the examination unless he obtains 40%
marks in VIVA-VOCE test.
5.                   No candidate shall be summand for VIVA-VOCE unless he has obtained at least 33% marks
in each individual written paper and 40% marks in the aggregate.
6.                   Five grace marks may be granted to really deserving candidates in one or two papers or in
the aggregate.
