PB&J DAY IS MARCH 1 IN ATLANTA – The most popular commodity day, PB&J Day, will go on Monday, March 1 at the

which is across the street from the Capitol. Flyers are being sent to all the staffs so they will know where to find us. Hosted by
the Georgia Peanut Commission and the National Peanut Buying Points Association, the exhibits are open from 9 AM until
Noon. Get your company name on the signage for $250 and you may send items for the Gift Baskets that will be presented to
the Governor and key Constitution Officers. Wear your mask and plan to come help.
This is also the kick-off of March as National Peanut Month and lots of surprises will be released. To join the fun,
contact Joy Purvis at joypurvis@gapeanuts.com or call at 229-326-0142. Coupled with the event will be the Legislative

ARGENTINA PEANUT CHAMBER COMMENTS - Ivana Cavigliasso, Vice President of the Argentine Peanut Chamber
(CAM), said that “The peanut sector is growing a lot in ADDED VALUE & PREPARED PRODUCTS and we want to
make possible our TAXES to be lower on these products; encourage work at the plants, labor, and infrastructure. Sometimes it
is not easy with the economy we have, but always working to continue growing ". The vice president of the (CAM) warned
that despite the improvement in prices, one drawback was not being included in the LOWER OF TAXES FOR THE
REGIONAL ECONOMIES.
"The truth was that it cost us a bit, Brazil has been growing a lot and it is difficult to compete when many taxes are
exported." Regarding the reality of the PEANUT CLUSTER "we are very advanced and always working to compete
internationally. Our clients make us grow, in the quality management of the plants we are, I believe, the number one in the
world of peanuts", She remarked.
Regarding the 2021 peanut crop, two months before knowing the final peanut numbers, “January was very good,
these days we have had rains of between 80 and 150 millimeters throughout the core of the peanut area. Now the sanitary
controls for leaf-spot control begin”, she explained. In addition, she added that this year the area planted was approximately
10% higher.
"Last year, it was a good peanut crop, so the spirits improved, we must continue betting on peanuts, which we know it is the
leader in exports." Cavigliasso expressed that they expect a 2021 of VIRTUAL MEETINGS: "The presence is still a bit
difficult this year."
PEANUT LAND COMPETITION IN U.S. - Comments from a Cotton Marketer - The cotton market has continued to do
nothing but impress. Old crop values have reached the frothy 90 cent level that we thought they might and new crop
December has impressively followed along, now bumping up against .8500, also where we thought or at least hoped those
prices might go. December 22 continues to be the best value on the board in this novice's opinion as it still hasn't even
attempted to take out .7500, although there is still plenty of time for that, as we still haven't gotten a really good hold on 2021
acreage just yet. (Cotton Council survey says 11.5 million acres, down 5.2%)
Grains were lower this week, but have remained firm for the most part with new crop corn at $4.80, soybeans pushing
$12.00 and wheat remaining firmly above $6.00. Stocks indexes remain at all-time highs and even the US dollar has firmed
lately. Everyone keeps waiting on a new "stimulus package" for Covid relief but until we see the language, a price tag, and
ultimately a passage, the dollar is going to try and hang tough as the world's dominant reserve currency.
COMMENT – Hard to do business in peanuts today with Southwest under ice and snow, Southeast/VC under
water.
