Hi, my name is Michelle Rollins and I'm a fourth grade teacher at Brea Country Hills Elementary

School. I have a bachelors degree in special and elementary education and I have a Masters degree
in curriculum of instruction for autism spectrum disorders. In the beginning of my career I about five
years ago I started in a special day class so I worked for three years in special education and then
for the last two years. I have worked in general Education, 4th grade. I learned a lot in my special
education years such as how to incorporate social, emotional learning as well as differentiation in
instruction for my students. I feel that having this background has really helped me in the
general education classroom by being able to provide supplemental materials for students who have
diverse needs and just meeting all students in there. Levels in order to create a more inclusive
environment. Also, I find that in every classroom, special education or general education that is a
crucial for us to incorporate social emotional learning. Especially during these times. So I do this by
doing daily checkins, having a time for our morning meetings, and many other things. So I look
forward to learning more in this classroom and I appreciate your time.
