Data Collection, Analysis, Findings, Discussion, Conclusion and Recommendations

Total Marks: 30

Those of you whose instruments have been approved by relevant supervisors can start data
collection. Others are required to select and finalize the instrument(s) with the supervisor. After
finalization of the tool, you are directed to start data collection. In this assignment, you will do
data collection and analysis in the form of tabulation, appropriate analysis techniques and
interpretation of those results. After doing the analysis you also need to give findings,
discussion, conclusions and recommendations.

General Instructions

SPSS is software that is commonly used to analyze the quantitative data.

You will collect the data and enter that into the spreadsheet of the SPSS and apply appropriate
statistical techniques on the data.

For descriptive statistics use: Means, standard deviations and percentages.

For inferential statistics we use: for differences—t-tests and one-way ANOVA and for
relationship—pearson r correlation.

Data needs to be presented in the tables according to the APA style manual 6th edition.

For qualitative studies and interview analysis, the data must be elaborated and clear findings
should be made using themes and interpretations.

The whole report should be written according to the guidelines as suggested in the course manual
uploaded in the downloads section, and given with every assignment. APA manual 6th edition
should be followed throughout.

Feedback of supervisors on previous assignments should be incorporated before data analysis.

NOTE: Do discuss about data entry and analysis with the supervisor and seek their guidance.
The findings, discussion, conclusions and recommendations should be given after showing the
data analysis to the supervisor.
