LEARNING OBJECTIVES By the end of the lesson, students are able to:
1) Practise listening for the gist of a phone conversation
2) Identify and explain the situation in the phone conversation

PRE LESSON 1. Exhibit a picture of a computer on the whiteboard and ask the
pupils to label the computer parts and components.

DEVELOPMENT 1. Teacher divides pupils into a group of 4 and provide them with the
strips of computer parts and their usage.
2. Every group will match the strips of computer parts to their
function.
3. Using mini board, every group will have a group representative to
share their answer.
4. Teacher gives instruction to the class about the task and ask them
to predict what Wayne’s dad’s problem is.
5. Students listen for the first time and see if their prediction matches.
If not, students jot down the problem.
6. Then, pupils are asked to refer to page 11 in their textbook and try
to answer while listening to the recorded audio.
7. Pupils will listen to the recorded audio 2nd time and try to identify
the main idea of the conversation and pupils will try to answer
Section C- True and False to check their understanding of the main
ideas in the conversation.
8. Pupils will respond to teacher’s question by discussing with their
partner (think-pair-share).

POST LESSON 1. Teacher distribute worksheet and pupils have to fill in the gap
based on the phone conversation.
2. Pupils will exchange their worksheets with their partner.
3. Pupils will listen and check their answer for Section C.
