talking about previous work experience

[Neil is sitting at his desk in his office. Meera is sitting opposite him. Neil is interviewing Meera for
a job.]
NEIL: Now let’s talk about your work experience. I see from your CV that you’ve worked for two
different companies since leaving college. First, you worked for Walkers Department Store as a

MEERA: Yes, that’s right, I worked for Walkers for a year in 2011.
NEIL: And how was that?
MEERA: I really enjoyed it. The training scheme was good.

NEIL: And why did you decide to move to New Mode?
MEERA: Well, I knew about their clothes. And I’m quite interested in fashion, generally. To be
honest, I thought that the job would be a way to break into the fashion industry.
NEIL: I see. But your job at New Mode was in the accounts department. That’s very different from
your previous job, isn’t it? At Walkers you were dealing with customers and training to be a store
manager.
MEERA: Well, yes, but I saw the job at New Mode as a first step. Also, as I said before, I trained
in accounting as part of my degree. So I was qualified to do the job. Of course, I didn’t ...
