Workplace safety is the right to leave for work in the morning and
return at night in good health.

Safework Manitoba is an organization responsible for promoting and

delivering services related to workplace injury and illness prevention.

Injuries are the most FREQUENT reason of death for people in

Manitoba between the ages of one and 44.

In 2010, 725 people died because of injuries. That’s almost two every
day!
There were also 127,543 visits to the emergency room because of
workplace injuries.

The overall goals of Manitoba government’s plan are to:

1. Reduce the risk of injury
2. Reduce costs of injury
3. Change attitudes and behaviours
