Service rates for getting electricity in overhead distribution area

As the meeting 678th on 21 February 2017, Metropolitan Electricity Authority Committee

approved Metropolitan Electricity Authority (MEA) to charge the connection fee of overhead
distribution area for all Capacity of electricity usage in Flat rate. For supporting Doing Business,
Governor has order as follows;
1. For getting low voltage electricity, MEA charge the connection fee in table 1: Service
rates for getting electricity in overhead distribution area or table 2: Service rates for
getting electricity in underground distribution area of MEA order: Service rates for
getting electricity, 1993 and revised (second version), 2010.
2. For getting 12,000 or 24,000 volt electricity in overhead distribution area, MEA charge
the connection fee in table 5: Service rates for getting high voltage electricity in
overhead distribution area of MEA order: Service rates for getting electricity, 1993.
3. For exceeding distance of Flat rate in 1. and 2., MEA will not charge additional
service charge 25%.
Effective on 21 February 2017 on.
