A wonderful place to enjoy this summer is to go to the beach, in the city of


Cartagena Colombia the beaches are very beautiful, the food is very delicious and
the people are very friendly. Before leaving it is important not to forget the passport
and safety recommendations.

it seems that a storm is going to fall, everything makes you think of very strong

distances.

Dear Mama.
John and I had a wonderful time in Ireland. Every day us early and we take a long
walk around the country. When we returned we usually had a great Irish breakfast,
which usually consisted in two eggs, three slices of bacon, toast and jam. Usually
ordered coffee cup after breakfast: Colombian coffee, of course.

After breakfast sometimes I went swimming in the river. We often mess with kids
who like to swim there. They have been very nice. At night, I almost always druk a
few pints of Guinness in the bars before going to bed. I always slept well after that,
I assure you.

1. Affirmative Sentences (Oraciones afirmativas)

Ejemplos:

2. Negative Sentences (Oraciones negativas)

Sujeto + verbo auxiliar ("to do") + "not" + verbo principal...

3. Interrogative Sentences (Oraciones interrogativas)

Ejemplos:

Verbo auxiliar ("to do") + sujeto + verbo principal...?

Uses

1. El pasado simple se utiliza para hablar de una acción concreta que comenzó y
acabó en el pasado.
Ejemplos:
Tom stayed at home last night. (Tom se quedó en casa anoche.)
Kate worked last Saturday. (Kate trabajo el sábado pasado.)
I didn't go to the party yesterday. (No fui a la fiesta ayer.)
Did they walk to school this morning? (.Han andado a la escuela esta mañana?)

2. Se usa el pasado simple para una serie de acciones en el pasado.

Ejemplos:

3. También lo usamos para acciones repetidas o habituales en el pasado,

Ejemplos:

He walked 5 kilometers every day to work. (Caminaba 5 kilómetros

4. Lo usamos para narraciones o acciones de períodos de largo tiempo en el


Pasado.

Ejemplos:

5. Se utiliza para hablar de generalidades o hechos del pasado.

STEP 4 - letter to a friend

STUDENT PARAGRAPH
DONALDO I am a mechatronics technologist, in a company called KOMATSU,
ROMERO I have 10 colleagues in my area of work, they have an average of
24 years of age. I make repairs to mining equipment. I have to
work from 5:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. My work area is very large, I work
in the outdoor field. Where the client needs my services. When my
workday ends, I go to my room to rest, sometimes I read the
manuals of the teams where I work, or I start doing the tasks of the
university in which I am studying. Industrial Engineering, because
I am preparing myself at the UNAD to continue advancing in life
and in the company where I work. I do not see much television
anymore because I do not have time, now I read much more than
before.
JAVIER The company Komatsu is located in the municipality of Loma
SUAREZ Cesar, provides repair services, advice and sale of spare parts for
mining equipment; his work area is very large and outdoors, has
about 200 workers, the municipality of La Loma has an
amusement park where there are soccer fields, swimming pools
and playground for children. Outside the parquet there is a
beautiful garden with many red and yellow flowers.
HANNE Dear friend, I would like to tell you why I love my job, because I
SÁNCHEZ enjoy working in the open field, I like to learn new things about
MÁZZRI. mining vehicles every day and share knowledge with my
colleagues. I love making customers happy with quality products
and services. What I like the most about my work is constant
learning and sharing good manufacturing practices that take care
of the environment.
ALDEMAR However my friend, I do not agree with work schedules, these are
GONZALEZ exhausting, I feel that the time to sleep is very short and I get up
exhausted. Although I like to work in the open air, high
temperatures cause me a headache, in addition, the small
particles produced by coal have generated respiratory infections,
allergies and other effects. The employees are aggressive and not
sociable, which generates a tense work environment; I also cannot
stand my boss, he is arrogant and presumptuous, I like my job, but
I hope to get a better one soon.

CARLOS I guess you'll be thinking that I'm not the luckiest with my job,
HERAZO. maybe you would not like to have it, but I thank God for the
opportunity to support my family and to be able to study Industrial
Engineering at the same time, I hope that someday you can come
and meet this Company and tell me what you think about their
activities and, above all, what I do for the clients.
