Low pressure alarm brake reset device is an addition device to enhance the function of alarm
and mandatory brake. It can be used under the circumstance of slide-drilling, percussion drilling
and other situation which was caused by the hydraulic brake system inspected and maintained
inappropriately, or the operator did not handle the disc brake as required.

FUNCTION TEST REPORT

Today 31-12-2019 we have tested this BOKE electromechanical break. Function Test was
conducted by manually reducing the hydraulic oil pressure under all safety precautions. This
BOKE break safety system activates when oil pressure is less than 7MPa, one’s activated it gives
indication by blinking red LED light along continuously beep sound of alarm.

This visual was taken during test, as you can see the top gauge is showing pressure less than
7MPa and safety system activated with alarm, this was the first step of Function test to get
indication at 7MPa and successfully conducted. The 2nd step was to decrease the oil pressure
less than 4MPa to confirm either the BOKE safety system activated the emergency break and
stops the movement of Top drive System (TDS)
Second the final step was successfully conducted, we observed that when oil pressure goes
less than 4MPa the emergency break energized and stopped the TDS block movement, then
we tried to unlock the emergency break to normalize our system but BOKE safety didn’t
allowed it because oil pressure was less than 7MPa. This is the safety we wanted for our
system and BOKE provided us.
To normalize the system First we increased the oil pressure more than 7MPa and then applied
the manual TDS break and pull out the emergency break handle, after then driller pressed the
break reset button (UNLOCK SWITCH) and our system was back to normal situation.
