A new invention that I would like to have

These days, can we imagine life without new and modern technology? Could we
go about our daily lives without logging on to the Internet for even one day to find new
friends, or texting a friend via the phone about meeting up and getting an immediate
reply the same way? No, in this day and age we need new technology to progress. In
fact, the ubiquitous machine that we call a laptop, is steering us into the modern future.
How dependent are you on it?

The laptop ‘explosion’ has done this to us. It has opened up new frontiers, new
perspectives and new visions of what the future may be. And, to the layman like you
and me, it has made our daily lives much easier because laptop we can bring it
anywhere that we like such as travel around the world, toilet, cousins house and even to
the restaurant. We type out letters on it, we learn, for examples languages, dictionary, e-
books and many others, through it we plan our household budget on it. We can even
sharpen our skills if we stay on it long enough. From children to corporate executives,
the laptop has become an essential tool of total convenience as we go about our lives.
Sometimes, this even means power.

Furthermore, the main purpose of the invention that I would to have is the
fastest processor like Intel Core I7 950 3.66GHz Quad Core Processor. This processor
can operates at the highest speed of an internal clock to a quartz crystal that, when
subjected to an electrical current, send pulses, called ‘peaks’. The clock speeds,
corresponds to the number of pulses per second, written in Hertz (HZ). Thus, a
3.66GHz laptop has a clock that sends 366,000,000,000 pulses per second. With each
clock peak, the processor performs an action that corresponds to an instruction or a
part there of. This processor can support all games and works.

Apart from that, second important part in laptop is a graphic card. I would like
to have the best graphic card in the world like Nvidia Geforce GTX570. This graphic
card, also known as video card, graphics accelerators or display card are computer
hardware that takes binary data. The data compressed into a system of just two digits,
1s and Os and converts this data into images that are displayed at the laptop’s monitor.
A graphics card must work very hard to render images to the screen. Unlike text files,
graphics images are much larger files consisting of great amounts of data that must be
processed by the graphics card. A faster graphics card has its own resident memory
chips to perform this function so as not to impinge upon the system’s random access
memory (RAM). Less robust graphics cards have less resident memory and require
sharing system RAM to process images.

Besides, the liquid crystal display (LCD), a type of used in many portable
computers. LCD displays utilize two sheets of polarizing material with a liquid crystal
solution between them. An electric current passed through the liquid causes the crystals
to align so that light cannot pass through them. Each crystal, therefore, is like a shutter,
either allowing light to pass through or blocking the light. Monochrome LCD images
usually appear as blue or dark gray images on top of a gray-white background. Colour
LCD displays use two basic techniques for producing colour: Passive matrix is the less
expensive of the two technologies. The other technology, called thin film transistor
(TFT) or active-matrix, produces colour images that are as sharp as
traditional CRT displays, but the technology is expensive. Recent passive-matrix
displays using new CSTN and DSTN technologies produce sharp colors rivaling active-
matrix displays. Most LCD screens used in laptop are backlit, or transmissive, to make
them easier to read.

In addition, random access memory (RAM), a type of computer memory that

can be accessed randomly, that is, any byte of memory can be accessed without touching
the preceding bytes. RAM is the most common type of memory found in laptop and
other devices, such as printers. RAM is to support the work to work faster than the
ordinary one. There are two different types of RAM: DRAM (Dynamic Random Access
Memory) and SRAM (Static Random Access Memory). The two types differ in the
technology they use to hold data, with DRAM being the more common type. In terms of
speed, SRAM is faster. DRAM needs to be refreshed thousands of times per second
while SRAM does not need to be refreshed, which is what makes it faster than DRAM.
DRAM supports access times of about 60 nanoseconds, SRAM can give access times as
low as 10 nanoseconds. Despite SRAM being faster, it's not as commonly used as
DRAM because it's so much more expensive. Both types of RAM are volatile, meaning
that they lose their contents when the power is turned off.

Then, the Internet made its appearance. Children can play online games such as
Sudden Attack, Warcraft and can meet their old friends through Facebook, Friendster,
Twitter and Tumblr. While corporate executives may do work by Microsoft Office and
Internet Explorer. And it sent the whole world into frenzy. People from across the globe
can now communicate with each other with just a click of button. Friendships are made,
business contacts are established and deals are sealed all through the Internet because
we have the laptop. Communication has become a revered word as the world opened
up.

However, for all the convenience that is has given us, we should not rely too
much on it to do our jobs. So much so, that we become totally inept or complacent if we
replace human teachers or human workers in offices with laptops. For example, have
you ever experienced calling a customer service to enquire about a product only to be
greeted by a recorded voice that asks you to press one for this, or press two for that and
by the time the voice shuts up, you are standing there feeling like a fool? There things
that you can change but there are also things that u should not. No matter how
technologically advanced human become, the ‘human touch’ should remain and the
laptop should only act as a tool for technological advancement and not to replace
human endeavours.
As long as the movers and shakers in this world understand that, we are all
right. Let the advent of technology develop us for the better and not destroy us.
