EDITOR’S NOTE
一转眼， 一届任期就快结束，时间在不知不觉中
流失。金刚经曰：“一切有为法，如梦幻泡影，如
露亦如电，应作如是观。” 既然我们留不住岁月，
不如把握当下，让生命在无常中活得更有意义。

由于疫情的严峻挑战，马佛青代表大会一而再，
再而三地展延。第二十五届全国理事担任职务也
已有两年十个月了。在这期间，有人迫不急待地
马佛青总秘书许俊辉
要退下来；有人期待着接受新职务；有人还在留

下或离开之间犹豫。无论哪一种心情，我们都不 General Secretary of YBAM
忘初心。无论去到哪里，那份做善行的心是非常
珍贵的。

我靠佛教丰富生命，走向光明；佛教靠我青年，为佛教弘扬各地，利益众生。我
们佛教青年不计较个人得失，联合僧信四众，共同发心尽力发展佛教。佛教青年
对于本土佛教的永续发展工作可谓任重道远！

In a blink of an eye, we are near to the end of the term of our service,
time flies. The Diamond Sutra: ‘All conditioned phenomena are like a
dream, an illusion, a bubble, a shadow; like dew or a flash of lightning;
thus we shall perceive them.’ We should seize the moment and make
our life more meaningful.

The pandemic is a severe challenge and YBAM is forced to postpone

the Biennial National Convention once and again. It has been 2 years
and 10 months since the 25th YBAM National Council has been set up.
During this period, some of us are waiting for the term to come to an
end; some of us are looking forward to accepting new duties; some are
hesitating between stay and leave. No matter what mood we are in,
we shall never forget our original intention, our loving-kindness is
precious no matter where we are in the future.

Buddhism has enriched our lives, leading us to the light; relatively, we

the Buddhist youth shall propagate Buddhism throughout the world, to
benefit the sentient beings. We put personal gains and losses aside,
developing Buddhism with the Four-fold Assembly. Buddhist youth plays
an important role in the sustainable development of local Buddhism!

马佛青雪隆与砂拉越州联委会日前联办了“线上儿童佛学班攻略”分享会，邀请般若
学舍创办人妙赞法师担任分享嘉宾。也迎来全马各地共234名的佛学班老师参与。

for Online Children Dharma Class’ sharing session, inviting Ven. Miao Jan,
the founder of Prajna Meditation

over Malaysia have participated in

妙赞法师分享，承担佛学班老师可以有
很多缘由，但最重要的是“我喜欢”。唯
有“欢喜心”才能消除一切障碍，乐在教
学。对于佛学班师资短缺的困境，妙赞
法师表示要懂得变化，弹性调整班级人
数与年龄，从容应对。此外，佛学班老师一定要不断阅读，让内心对学习保持新
鲜感，才能在教学上有所突破。
Ven. Miao Jan shared that there are many reasons to become a Dharma
class teacher, but the most important criteria is ‘I like it’. Only enjoyment
can overcome obstacles, and make us enjoy teaching. Regarding the
shortage of Dharma class teachers, Ven. said that we must adapt to
change, set up a flexible classroom, and deal with it calmly. Besides,
Dharma class teachers should read more to keep learning to improve
their teaching.

马来西亚佛教的发展早在二千年前已有存
在，（根据赤土文丛，”吉打二千年”一书
的叙述）后因长远历史过程，时事之变迁，
加以伊教强权的传入，殖民地教育感化基
督教的盛行，冲击了佛教的发展，失落文
化的佛教，无法抵御积极宗教的攻势，本
地区之佛法因而被隐没在历史长河中，被
时势所淡化。

近世纪二／三百年间，因为中国移民的再
到来，同时再把中国南方人的习俗信仰带
来，随后也有北传系的中国大乘佛教，通
过文化教育理性宗教信仰传入，佛教开始
复兴。中南半岛之南传原始佛教，因为和

The Inheritance of Buddhism in Malaysia

The history of Buddhism in Malaysia can trace its origin as early as two
thousand years ago. (As cited in '2000 Years of Kedah', published by
Pustaka Tanah Merah). In the long course of history, countless changes
take place. With the powerful spread of Islam, the prevalence of colonial
education and Christianity have impacted the development of Buddhism.
Buddhism has become a lost culture, and it cannot resist the proactive
approach of other religions. As a result, Buddhism in this region ended up
burying itself in the long river of history, faded into the tides of times.

In the past two or three centuries, the re-arrival of Chinese immigrants has
brought along the southern Chinese customs and traditions and the
Chinese Mahayana Buddhism belonged to the northern tradition. Through
cultural education and rational religious approaches, Buddhism began to
revive. The Indochina Peninsula shares a close geographical relationship
with the Malay Peninsula. Therefore, primitive Buddhism of the Southern
tradition has been introduced to the east coast region of the Malay
peninsula. There is also Theravada Buddhist teachings introduced from
Ceylon which has been propagated in the central region of the peninsula.

From the perspective of archaeology

introduced from India and Indonesia. In
recent centuries, the Tibetan Vajrayana

and Vajrayana. It has continued to flourish

Buddhist pluralism in Malaysia.

The development of Buddhism in Malaysia was marked by several rises

devotion of believers are the recent phenomena of Malaysian Buddhism.

马佛青呼吁政府紧急拨款支援庙宇

由于疫情严峻，政府不允许寺庙在新年期间开放是可被理解的事情，但同时也不能
忽略的是大部分地方寺庙主要是靠信徒和民间捐款来维持，长时间的行动管制令已
让许多庙宇面对经济困难。今年新年期间更面对主要捐款被切断的窘境，这将导致
有些地方佛教会难于维持长期运作。

马佛青呼吁政府能紧急拨款支援庙宇，更希望能够制度化地拨款给各宗教场所，以
让宗教场所得以喘口气。马佛青也呼吁各界人士、企业家及地方领袖能慷慨解囊，
共同护持地方与民间宗教场所，让各正信宗教能继续扮演安定人心，散播正能量的
角色。

除此，马佛青不认同政府在不同的宗教场所开放政策上的双重标准。在国家面对疫
情挑战下，所有宗教种族，都需团结一致并遵守统一的标准作业，共同抗疫!

YBAM Calls for The Government’s Emergency Funding to Support The Non-
Muslim Places of Worship

Due to the severe COVID-19 pandemic situation, it is understandable that

prayers at places of worship are not allowed during the Chinese New
Year. However, many places of worship rely on devotees and private
donors to fund their daily operations. Many places of worship are now
facing financial challenges because of the prolonged movement control
orders. The locked-down new year is pressing painfully on the finances of
places of worship, making it more challenging to serve the faithful and
gather their donations and thus will not survive.

Young Buddhist Association of Malaysia (YBAM) calls on the government

to provide emergency funding to ease the places of worship burdens and
it is to be hoped that the government systematises the fund allocation
approaches to all places of worship. YBAM also calls on people from all
walks of life, entrepreneurs, and local leaders to donate generously and
jointly protect the local places of worship so that they can continue to
play an important role in comforting people and spreading positive
energy.

In addition, YBAM does not agree with the government's double

standards of opening places of worship. We, regardless of race and
religion, must unite and adhere to the standard operating procedures to
fight the pandemic together!

Persatuan Belia Buddhist Malaysia Menyeru Kerajaan Menyalurkan Dana

Kecemasan Kepada Rumah Ibadat Bukan Islam

Tindakan kerajaan Malaysia mengisytiharkan penganut tidak dibenarkan

hadir ke rumah ibadat untik aktiviti keagamaan dalam Prosedur Operasi
Standard (SOP) Sambutan Tahun Baru Cina berikutan penularan wabak
COVID-19 dapat difahami semua kelompok masyarakat. Walau
bagaimanapun, tidak dapat diabaikan bahawa kebanyakan rumah ibadat
bergantung kepada sumbangan penganut dan sumbangan swasta.
Perintah kawalan pergerakan yang berpanjangan telah mengakibatkan
kebanyakan rumah ibadat menghadapi masalah kewangan. Pada tahun
baru ini, kebanyakan rumah ibadat menghadapi dilema besar dalam
pemotongan sumbangan, ini akan juga mengakibatkan rumah ibadat
agama Buddha di beberapa tempat tidak dapat mengekalkan operasi
sedia ada.

Persatuan Belia Buddhist Malaysia (YBAM) menyeru kerajaan supaya

menyalurkan dana kecemasan kepada rumah ibadat bukan Islam dan
berharap agar kerajaan mengaplikasikan sistem peruntukan kewangan
yang lebih telus dan berkesan bagi memastikan semua rumah ibadat
berbilang agama boleh mendapat bantuan untuk meringankan beban kos
operasi. YBAM juga meminta orang ramai, pengusaha dan pemimpin
tempatan untuk memberi sumbangan kepada rumah ibadat supaya
mereka dapat terus memainkan peranan penting dalam menenangkan
hati orang ramai dan menyebarkan tenaga positif.

Selain itu, YBAM tidak bersetuju dengan pelaksanan kerajaan yang tidak
seragam atas pembukaan rumah-rumah ibadat. Kita berbilang kaum dan
