Mark 1:29-39

During this time of the pandemic, one of the things that support me is the assurance of prayer
from my family, relatives, friends, and friends. Indeed, praying for one another is a powerful way
for us to bear each other's burdens. In our reading of the Gospel for this Sunday, we witness the
intercession of the apostles for Peter's mother-in-law. We know that no one who asks for help
from Jesus is left disappointed. Therefore, the mother-in-law of Peter was immediately healed
because our Lord Jesus had heard the prayer of the apostles. We see here, therefore, the
importance of intercession. Taking another's hand and praying for them is a powerful blessing
that can be given to another person. For one another, we can become channels of blessing. The
apostles became channels of grace for the mother-in-law of Peter. They have interceded; they
have pleaded on her behalf. In our Christian life, we can also be intercessors to one another. We
pray for others, that through us we may ask Jesus to be the Lord and Healer in our personal life,
in our family, in our community, and in our world. It may happen that the blessings we receive
from God may not only be the fruit of our prayers, but also the fruit of the intercessions of others
for us. And the importance of praying for one another is even more evident now that we are
dealing with the pandemic. We should pray not only for our safety but also for others, because
these days, the health of one is the health of everyone, the sickness of one is the sickness of all.
