Hello! I am so excited to meet you! I hope your last semester was great; you’re one 
step closer to the end of the school year! In the semester to come, our class will cover a 
variety of fiction and nonfiction literature. We’ll also explore argumentative writing, learn 
new literary terms, and discover important research techniques. Many of the skills we’ll 
practice inside the classroom are used in other areas as well, so please be ready to put forth 
your best effort! I believe you are capable of amazing things, and I can’t wait to see what 
thoughts and insights you bring to our class!

To parents/guardians, 
I am genuinely thrilled to have your child in my class. I can’t wait to get to know them 
while (hopefully) peaking their interest in English and all that it has to offer. With that 
being said, I want you to know that I will try my best to keep you informed of your child’s 
progress. If there is a certain mode of communication that you prefer, please let me know. I
