Above lay a blank canvas enveloped in fog where the night’s pearl took its place and stood

luminously
overlooking the demolished remains of a once iridescent park. As the light faded behind the dark, plump
cotton islands, the resplendent silver pond was now bathed in waters as black as ebony. The eerie screams
of the wind blew through the brown wooden structures that mourned for the everlasting blessing of rain as
their last leaves of hope vanished. Their wrinkled claws clung to my strawberry hair as it grazed against
my soft, pallid skin. Below stood rusting metal benches in sodden soil, some toppled over in the
pandemonium. Gargoyle sculptures of concrete stood amidst the rotting scrub of moss and weeds. Their
eyes glowed diabolically, and gleamed scarlet red. Cracks lined their broken bodies and sharp teeth tore
through my lavender gown. With widened eyes, I gazed into the distance to see a pair of eccentric gems
piercing through my soul. A distorted version of a man appeared from the mist and sat calmly on a bench.
The outlandish creature pulled from his pocket a silver object and shot death. Dripping red as liquid
oozed from my shattered frame onto the paper-thin linear blades of grass. Already the warmth of the day
is quite gone, only ever present in the sunshine, and the first bite of the night was all I knew.
