may diversify widely depending on age,
gender and pubertal development

adolescence

• Girls will gain approximately 18 lbs (8.3) kg a

• Normally, during the adolescent period, boys
gain more muscle and lean tissue than adipose
tissue

as overweight or obese do not have really high
adiposity (32.1% of females and 42% of
males).
