Critique paper on “Why go Vegan”

An article published by The Vegan Society discusses why people should go vegan. It is an
association based off in England, and its movement started off in 1994. The article was published until
recently was written to persuade people why they should consider going vegan. The article follows a
persuasion pattern of development in writing. The article was created by vegans who wanted their
readers to do the same. The article was very informative and clearly stated out why it is so important to
go vegan[ CITATION The20 \l 1033 ].

According to the article, going vegan would prevent exploitation and cruelty in animals. It also
decreases the heavy burden on the environment during the production of meat and other animal
products. Going vegan, according to the article, reduces the carbon footprint as well. Overall, veganism
is a sustainable option for our planet and for our health.

The Vegan Society was the author of the article and discussed why people should go vegan. The
aim is to persuade people who are not vegan to switch to the vegan lifestyle and also to keep their
vegan patrons in check. The article listed several examples as to why people should opt for a vegan
lifestyle. While I do think that the examples and the reasons stated are valid, I do think that the article is
quite biased. It only discussed the good effects of veganism and did not include its negative sides. Like
anything else in the world, every idea or movement has its advantages and disadvantages. However, the
article did not cite the disadvantages of veganism. The writer might have done this in hopes of further
persuading people as to why they should go vegan.

The article follows a persuasive method of writing. It explains what veganism is and why
people should consider this lifestyle. It is a great tool for understanding what veganism is and why
people should do it, but it only discusses one side of the idea. The structure of the article makes it seem
like it is quite biased. In the future, writers should also discuss the other side effects of pursuing such a
movement.
