INTRODUCTION:
➢ Business hotel project proposal in Porur, Chennai as the Mount-
Poonamallee Road could turn into OMR 2.0 and also the western
gateway for Chennai.

➢ Project consists of 12 acres of land located near the porur junction

which forms the major node of the Chennai inner ring road.

AIM:
To design a business hotel with envelope design that reduces the energy
consumption of the building.

NEED:
According to BEE report 2011, the energy consumption of hotel
buildings has an EPI of 279 which is high for warm & humid zone.
(Recommended EPI – 180 & below)

OBJECTIVES:
To incorporate the energy performance studies done in dissertation to
the hotel building along with structural and other green strategies.

SCOPE:
Considering the future growth of Mount-Poonamallee Road which is
about to turn into OMR 2.0 for IT firms, providing luxurious hotels in
this corridor supports the business people coming from other states and
overseas for their residents.

➢ Site measuring 12.26 acres is located in Porur, Chennai.
➢ The main road providing access to the site is Mount-
Poonamallee Road.
➢ Prominent locations around the site include Porur junction, inner
ring road toll plaza, Ramachandra institute of medical science.
