Memories are the things that build us. Memories make us who we are.

Memories help us
treasure the best moments of our lives. Life goes on but memories help us reflect and find more
meaning in the events that had passed. Memories do not have to be good ones. They can be
life lessons that change us as a person and help us become better people. Memories can also
be regrets. Regrets that help us learn and refrain ourselves from doing reckless things. I myself
have things to overcome and this is my story to one of them.

As a kid, I was always alone. I was always the center of attention since I did not have siblings.
That was when arrogance started growing and the lack of care would always get me irritated.
But then one fateful day when I was nine, the news of having a brother came crashing down
and I was mentally shocked. I had never had a single thought about having someone to share
my love with. It was obviously not happy news for me. While everyone was busy with
preparations I would just sit there and feel betrayed. The day of his arrival came and everyone
would pay him utmost attention. I was still considered young at the time as an annoying kid, I
would never leave my parents alone without complaining about how they left me alone. One
day, my mom ran out of patience and scolded me about how I was being immature and it was
necessary for me to grow up. That was when I started crying. My dad comforted me after that
and explained to me what it was to love a sibling. Over time, I started becoming closer and more
attached to my brother. We started to play with each other and naturally, he became more and
more loveable. Every little thing he did was able to make me very cheerful. I then realized that I
did not lose the love I received from my parents but instead, I had another person loving me. I
find every moment with him meaningful and filled with optimism. He also changed me because
thanks to him, I became more responsible and thus, developed my responsibility. I will never
forget the days of distress and also the joy I have received from this experience. No matter
what, I will always remember this experience and value it as a life-changing event.
