Introduction:

Lamborghini is one of the most well known car manufacturing company ever. The founder,
Ferruccio Lamborghini was determined to make the name of his brand to be big. Ferruccio
was born in Italy in 1916 and he was fascinated with engines and gears from a young age.
During World War 2, he joined the army and was stationed on the island of Rhodes.
Fortunately, there was little going on there during the war. The island was essentially
isolated from the rest of the world. Any cars, trucks or motorcycles that broke down had to
be repaired on the spot with reused parts. Lamborghini was known as the guy that can and
will fix the machines. He was highly demanded by everyone to fix these engines.
After the war, he returned to his home near Modena in northern Italy and setup a small car
and motorcycle repair shop. Ferruccio realized that where he lived it was lacking tractors in
the agricultural areas. Ferruccio found out that he could make tractors in under a month
made by military vehicles spare parts. As Italy’s economy grew and things got better,
demands on his high quality tractors grew and he then began making his own tractor
engines. His tractor business became a hit reaching a rate of 400 a month in 1960. Ferruccio
then later looked on expanding his business and started manufacturing heaters and air
conditioning units for buildings as well as maintaining the tractor manufacturing business.
Soon later, Lamborghini became interested in developing high performance cars. He had
own many types of luxury cars but was never satisfied on how their engines were.
Lamborghini decided that he will to make a relly powerfull car that will top off Ferrari and
the rest of the other cars. He had build his own car with a V12 engine and hired engineer
Giampaolo dallara for the design. Giampaolo Dallara had previously worked for Ferrari.
With Lamborghini’s car as vibrant as ever, it made a name for the world as soon as it went
out. Lamborghini made other cars but the Miura was the first car that he had shown in an
Auto show. The cars engine was mid-mounted, which back in the day, was only for and seen
in F1 race cars. The design was so unique and was executed by Marcello Gandini in less than
a year, and on march 1966 Geneva show it was completed and on display for everyone to
see.
In 1974 disaster has struck the company. The Lamborghini tractor business received a major
setback and was failing and losing a lot fo money. A massive order for the tractors made by
a South American country was cancelled. Because of this downfall, Ferruccio Lamborghini
has sold parts of his share in the factory. Eventually, the factory was taken over by Fiat,
another car manufacturing company.
