(03) 5380 7174 Printed in Japan PREFACE ‘Thank you very auch for your purchase of DENYO POWER SS Model DA~3000SS This manual contains the items necessary for operation of the engine generator purchased So carefully read explanation of each ites and use the generator for a longer time by the correct method of operation This generator minimizes sound generation owing to the original soundproof system It is an innovative engine generator featuring a small size, lightweight and soundproof design This generator is extensibly usable as 2 oower supply for illumination, for diverse machinery such as a power tool and submersible pump, and for civil engineering and agriculture besides usage as an energent power supply in the event of a disaster. Since this generator is a soundoroof type, it can be used freely with no need for worrying about noise generation at locations, where noise level is restricted, as exemplified by nighttime work in a city area This generator enploys the highly evaluated Robin engine. Ltd generator section has a revolving-field structure and features a high product qual ity. This not-only infringes lew,but ni ght cause shock hazard or machine trouble. Do not use the generator in rain. Also avoid splashing water on the cenerator for washing, etc. Otherwise, the generetor,or its electrical circuit might become faulty. There is e danger of shock hazard If the porer receptacle or other electrical connection is touched with a et hand. Never touch the electrically charsed part during operation, On exheust ras Exhaust gas conteins haraful constituents. Do not use the generator in a roon, warehouse, tunnel,hold or locat fons where ventilation is poor. Pay ettention not to spill fuel If spilled, wipe it off completely and stert the engine after confirning that the generator is dry. Never handle fuel with o cigarette in your aouth. Carefully confirm that there is no fire source like a bonfire in the vicinity. Do not bring easy-to-burn substances ( paper, straw,wood, etc.) and dengerous substances (such as gunpoder, ofl/fat and‘celluloid) close to the generator or put then near the generator. Do not enclose the generator or put © sheet, box, etc. on the generator when opereting it. Before use, secure a distance of 1 m or longer from an adjacent building and other faci lit Refrain from using the generator indoors On indoor use; restrictions are iposed by lew. Follow the regulations and leas on labor safety and hygiene, fire, electric utility industry, etc., which ere stipulated in your country Avoid inclining or moving the generator while it is operated. PREPARATIONS FOR OPERATION, Place the generator horizontally. Place the generetor on fire and flat ground. Besides, neke sure thet there is no obstacle within 1m of the generator. 3.1 Replenishaent of fuel Inject ASTH NO. 2 Diesel fuel or equivalent into the fuel tank. Excessive injection of fuel sight cause danger. So stop injection stightly before the tank is filled up. 3% Since this generator is equii ‘autonatic sir bleeding unit, tedious air bleeding from fuel Is unnecessary. 3.2 Replenishuent of engine of] selection of engine oil is very important. If improper engine oll is used or replacenent is neglected, sticking of the piston ring, seizure of the piston or early weer of the cylinder liner nicht be caused. Further, veer of the beering and other novable parts will be eccelersted to degrade dursbility of the engine. Use the engine oil having the quality Class CC or hisher (CC,CD) of heavy duty of! Note: ¥ith the lee face of generator kept horizontal, check oil level with the ofl level cause. 3.2.2 If oll Is Indected with the génerator inclined,oil nay be injected excessively or inadequately. In case oil is injected excessively, ofl consuaption say increa or oil temperature nay rise to adversely-effect the aachine. Inedequate oil might invite seizure. 3.2.8 Oi! pressure al If the pressure of engine oll drops below the specified level, the alarm lamp lights and the engine automatically stops. shen attespting to restart the engine, the leap turns on and the engine stors. Check each section and repair defective point, then restart the engine. 3.4 Haintenance of sir cleaner The sir cleaner elizinates dust frome ein and delivers clean air into the engine hen its elenent is heavily contaminated, the engine will cause unskooth stert, poor output and sbnormsl operation. (© Then using the generator at dusty location in particular, cleaning should be perforned every 30 to 60 hours as required. Othervise, shock hezard night occur or the generator might kel functio +k Use a new electric cable shere possible. Peeling of cable costing and danege night lead to short-circuit or shock hazerd. Turn 0} the circuit bresker. Select an adequate cable teking the load capacity end distance to load into account. Be sure to use e plug at each connection Never insert @ bere wire directly into the output receptacle. Because of incomplete connection, the vire nay slip off or overheat to cause burnins. A single output re tecle has a current cerring cepacity of 15 A, If multiple cebles are connected to only one receptacle, it will overheat, to cause burnis. To prevent this, distribute: load anong the receptacles evailable If load is turned ON/OFF by inserting /renoving the plug during operation the receptacle will be broken earlier. Besides, there is a risk of shock hazard. This generator is equipped with © grounding terninal. Be sure to connect this terminal to the ground. 4. START ok Be sure to turn OFF the circuit breaker for srert. %k Also turn OFF each switch of electrical equipnent. 4.1 Check befor start 4.1.1 Check for fuel/oil leakege and for inadequate oil level. 4.1.2 Check bolts end nuts for loosening. 4.1.8 Check for a dangerous substance or obstecle around the generator. 4.2 For start, inplexent the fol lowing procedure. 4.2.1 Hake sure that the circuit breaker is turned OFF (cut off) 4.2.2 Insert the Key into the starter switch and turn it to the " Operetion" position. 4.2.3 Check if the ofl pressure alarz lanp or charge alara lenp is lit, 4.2.4 Turn the key fully clockwise to the "Start" position. The starter vill rotete to start the engine. As soon as the engine sterts, the key should be released. The key autonstically returns to the “Operation” position. Caution: 1, Do not turn the starter switch to “Start” while the engine runs. 2. If the engine does not start at 10 seconds after turning the starter switch to the “start” position, Wait for half a minute or longer, and then repeat the procedure in 4.2.4. 3, This aachine Incorporates # safety circuit for preventing’ the self-stert notor fros overrunning. If the sotor is rotated beyond 20 seconds, it ‘autozatically stops. At this time, turn OFF the key switch, end then retry start. 4.2.5 After start of the engine, sake sure that the oll pressure alarn leap and charge alarn lemp are extinguished: If not extinguished, the engine will stop enerzently, localize the cause of this trouble with reference to section 8 and the instruction anual of engine. 4.2.8 Under the current condition, perform varn-up for § minutes or longer. % Automatic sir bleeding unit Since this generator is provided with an autosatic air bleeding unit. troublesone air bleeding from fuel is not required. You heve only to add fuel into the fuel tank, and sir will automatically be bled from fuel x 5.3 5.3.1 8. » 2) a Energency stop unit This unit is equipped for protecting the engine if on engine trouble occurs. In case oil pressure drops abnormally or charge becoze poor, the corresponding alarm lamp lights up and the engine autonatfcally stops owing to activation of this unit. When the engine has been stopped by this unit, the cause of trouble should be detected with reference to section 9 and the instruction manual of engine: After elixinating the trouble, the sachine should be resterted. Turn the starter stitch to the "STOP" position, and the engine will stop. Mer the engine has stopped completely, the key should be pulled out. Energenoy stop lever Exergency stop lever It the engine cannot be stopped by turning the starter switch to the “STOP” position, open the side door end push down the red~narked enargency stop lever provided on the engine side. The engine vill stop. this lever aust not be nenipulated in other than enereency. Preparation and care for operation on next day Replenish fuel to the fuel tank. If the fuel tenk is left as is though fuel level drops significently, fuel evaporates and codensat ion occurs Asa result, water is ept to accuaulete in the tenk.To prevent this, the fuel tank should always contein {uel up to the specified level 2)Clean the elezents of eir cleaner. 3)Check each fastening bolt and mut. If loose, retightening is necessary. 4)Alvays keep the machine clean by eliminating dust and moisture froa both inside and outside. Perform maintenance and check thoroughly with adequate reference to the instruction manual. T. ROUTINE CHECK AND MAINTENANCE Routine maintenance is indispensable for alvays using the machine under good conditions and extending its service life. To maintain this, avoid chenging the sopper position of the engine revolution adjustaent lever: -2- 8. MEASURE 10 BE TAKEN BEFORE LONG STORAGE 1)Discharge of fuel (fire source unallovable in the vicinity) ODischarge fuel froa the fuel tank with its drain cook loosened.
