INSTRUCTIONS FOR AUTOLIV SRS ECU REPLACEMENT

A new aftermarket Autoliv SRS ECU is always locked to prevent airbag from deploying in
case of installing it. So if you find that the SRS lamp comes on without DTCs stored after
replacing a new Autoliv ECU, it usually indicates the ECU is locked and inactive. To enable the
SRS, you must perform unlocking with a scan tool such as X431. Contrariwise, you should
perform locking function to disable it before removing an Autoliv SRS ECU.
The following procedure is introduced as Autoliv SRS on Brilliance car:
Step 1: Select Autoliv SRS

Step 2: Read DTC, If no DTC stored, but SRS lamp is always on, we can conclude that the ECU is
locked, which can be verified by the datastream item “ECU locked by the service”.

Step 3: performing “ECU lock” function in the menu, “SRS ECU unlocking” and “SRS ECU
Locking” display.

Step 4: If the installed SRS ECU is a new one, perform “SRS ECU unlocking” function, the SRS
lamp will turn off after performing successfully and the SRS is active.

Step 5: If you want to remove an old SRS ECU, please perform “SRS ECU locking” function
firstly, if the SRS lamp became on always it means that succeed to disable the SRS.
