PRE-TEST

What makes you trust a person?

Being told they had my back without me knowing it. Standing up for me without expecting something
in return. Being honest with me but gentle. Even when we fight, they won’t do/say something to hurt
me. When we don’t speak, they won’t go running around telling my secrets.
I’m willing to do all of that for them so that Is what I expect in return.

ACTIVITY
E-trike Operation
The QC government set to give E-trike Operation an extra push to serve more environment friendly
projects.  Planning to obtain more electric-tricycles for some areas, the city government shows the
test-runs they have done in the past two years and as effective as Japan’s International Cooperation
Agency’s study says.
Five (5) units are available in Maginhawa Loop during the run for four months in 2017. In the next
year, about 15 e-trike tricycles ran for 3 months in the Scout area. JICA study claims e-trikes project as
effective due to good customer satisfaction. According to the passengers, they not only enjoy the ride
but also the affordable price for an e-trike trip. A maximum of eight (8) passengers can ride the bike
for a fare cost of PhP8 to PhP10.

PROCESS QUESTION
Smart investments and actions taken now may help the Philippines not only recover quicker but also
boost longer-term development prospects. For instance, if transparent and organized around agreed
principles, may provide a model for collaboration on information sharing and resource allocation.
Additionally, the crisis may offer a unique opportunity to make politically challenging investments in
sectors and industries with the greatest potential for long-term job creation and growth.
This crisis will test the resilience of many countries especially the Philippines, which is one of the
developing countries. By sharpening awareness of structural vulnerabilities and weaknesses, it may
also build consensus and galvanize action on needed reforms and investments that not only
accelerate recovery but also support longer-term development.

GUIDED GENERALIZATION
1. No business or person should be allowed to harm the environment as the damage can be long term
and affect large segments of society and the ecosystem. Trying to save money or be more profitable is
no excuse for dumping industrial waste in our water supply or spewing toxins into our air. Everyone
has the responsibility to protect the environment, without it we all die. Everybody has the
responsibility to protect the environment from not littering to recycling and proper disposal of
materials like batteries. Businesses have a much greater impact due to what chemicals and filtration
they do or choose not to use. Businesses may have more power in this because they influence more
people. And with more power comes more responsibility. You can try and enforce it with rules and
regulations but we all know how people feel about rules. The best way to enforce it is with education.
If businesses are aware of the impact they have on the environment, why it’s important and how to
protect it then they are more likely to help.
2. Discrimination in the workplace is a pressing issue that employers face every day. Discrimination
simply means treating a person unfairly and illustrating prejudice. Many types of workplace
discrimination leave employees feeling unsafe, threatened, uncomfortable, and prejudiced against at
work. It is important to implement company policies and discourage a hostile work environment. The
key to a successful company is employee satisfaction and appreciation. The initiative advises
employers, as well as employees, to work to recognize and respect cultural differences and refuse to
partake or condone in any discriminatory activity. Training allows employers to define historical
misconceptions and prejudice. It provides an opportunity to explain inappropriate language and
potential triggers that can spark a hospital wok environment. If possible, make time for team-building
activities. Team-building exercises boost communication and establish an understanding of one
another. Some examples of team-building exercises include a company dinner or retreat that
introduces cultural discovery aimed to unite employees.
3. My opinion is that no matter what “field” you have chosen, one must be competent in order to
succeed. Competencies have long been used as a framework to help focus employees’ behavior on
things that matter most to an organization and help drive success. They can provide a common way to
harmonize, select and develop talent. Competencies are the characteristics or skills required to do a
job or task. A lack of corporate competency can cause health and safety problems within the work
environment and can also lead to poor quality. This could lead to fatalities or rework which will cost
the company money, and possibly their reputation.
