SUMMMARY OF CONCRETE CASTING NOTES AT 12/02/2021

1- During the concrete casting the ambient temperature too much high due-to
flame of heat flare which causes the ambient temperature more than 34 C
and this temperature causes appear the cracks on the top surface and side
surface for the foundations .

((Steps to avoid the future problems during casting and after concrete cast.))

2- -must to adding the ice to mixing water to be more cold with temperature
not exceed 16 C .
3- -due to the ambient temperature too much high because the flare flame
heat so must start mixing and casting the concrete at early morning around
7:30 am .
4- After finish the concrete cast and during the initial sitting must to Cover the
concrete with double layer of polyethylene sheet (ASTM C171) and after
three hour of casting must start with Fogging or sprinkling cold water with
nozzles and sprays above the concrete (ACI-308) and also going on with
water curing with duration 14 days (aci-301-16)
5- initial curing methods should be used immediately after placing, and before
and during the finishing process. Steps for initial curing should be taken to
slow the evaporation of the bleed water or to replenish the bleed water.
6- To avoid the crazing surface must follow these points: -

• Remove bleeding water before performing any finishing operation.

• DO NOT dust any cement onto the surface to absorb bleed water.
• Avoid excessive manipulation of the surface, which can depress the coarse aggregate
and increase the cement paste at the surface and increase the water cement ratio at the
surface.
• Delay steel troweling until water sheen has disappeared from the surface .

7- Must to be more control for the check the flow meter and concrete mixing over all
