Project Statement: Taking a modern ap-

proach to the design of a mosque, the “ma-
frooka” Islamic pattern was used to integrate
the plot space and the Qibla direction that
the mosque will be oriented towards. The
design aims to create a sleek holistic spiritu-
al feeling through the spatial design and pat-
tern integration. As well as the incorporation
of shadow and the light as two contrasting
miracles of compassion that descend upon
all creation from the creator.

Inspired by the simple structure of a mosque and showing re-
spect to the plot boundary as well as the Qibla direction.
