My Artistic Intention

I want my art to represent the retro style of anime art, the

shading is done with dots instead of a solid color.
How I Shape My Artistic Intention

I have always like anime art and I really like the art style of the artistic references
I chose. I think shading with dots is a more creative way to make the visuals
more attractive.
Sketches 2

1 This is the first 3 sketches I have chosen for

my formative. They were hand drawn. My
final artwork was inspired from picture 2
because I think there is a lot of room left for
me to expand on that picture and make it
more detailed. The three pictures of my
3 different art styles, but I think picture 2 fits
best with my artistic intention. I drew that
when I was watching an old anime show
name Lupin the Third, I really like the show
and wanted to create my own character.
Sketches 3

This the three sketches of my summative

work, the first sketch was an improved
1 version of picture 2 on the last slide. I first
made a rough draft with a green marker
then drew over it with a pen. This corrects
some of the mistakes I have made in body
structure. Then I traced over it on my phone,

I have added little detail and made the line
cleaner, but I still think the expression is not
I want so I redrew it (picture 3). This is the
final version and I decided to color it for my
summative
Color Schemes

These are the color I have

used for my final artwork. The
one with the white background
was the color I am planning to
use and the bottom one are
the colors I actually used. I
think I have unintentionally
used a lot of blue in this
picture but the different
shades create a contrast
which turns out to be better
then I expect.

Final Sketch

This is my final sketch, I have added the colors

and the basic idea of what my final artwork will
look like. I colored the hair black because I
think it bring out the purple eyes. Also I colored
in this with watercolor, I think the greyish black
is really beautiful and gives off an mystical
vibe.

“Sea”

This is my final artwork, I have made a lot of

improvements to it compared to the first draft. I
decided to name it sea because I think the
overall color use fits with the theme. She could
be looking at someplace far away. I think she
kind of looks like the personificated version of
the sea. Because normally the ocean is referred
to as a mother like female, I tried to create the
gentle feeling with blue eyes and blush and by
giving her wavy blue hair.
