Vacation pay and paid abcence Allowence

Employee becomes eligible for vacation pay and paid absence allowance wb he hsi at least 1
year’s seniority as of his eligibility date and has worked during at least 13 pay periods during
his vacation pay allowance eligibility year. This employee’s eligibility date Is June 30
(employees hired between Janunry 1 and June 30 have eligibility date of June 30). The
employee's seniority would not be broken until such time as be has been on layoff for a period ot
time equal to the period of time worked. Therefore, if the employee works until the end of
Oktober (8 months), he will have worked sufficient time to continue to accrue seniority until
the subsequent June 30 eligibillty date (8 months) at which time he would have more than 1
year’s seniority. In addition, he will have worked In 17 pay periods in the eligibility year
which would qualify him for 65 percent ot a full 40-hour vacation way silo ance nnd fIS percent
ot a fu1I 40-hour paid sbsene’ allowance ($2.W4 per honrxs0 houre$28M.40X65 percent or
$1M.96). By the end of December. he will have worked In 26 pay period and qualifled for a
full 40-hour vacation pay allowance and a full 40-bour paid absence allowance.
