General procedure for centrifugal pumps -

Startup and Shutdown
The startup and shutdown of a pump requires some special considerations that must be taken into account

to avoid any problem. Regardless of the uid, the operating principles are the same. Improper startup can

result in injuries or damages that can lead to lower pump reliability from problems such as seal and bearing
failure.
